A Symbolic Wedding essentially consists of a “blessing” or an “emblematic” ceremony, performed by a Non-Denominational Minister (with no legal validity). You can celebrate it in any location, without limitations or legal restrictions. Usually the couples who choose this type of ceremony have had or will have a civil ceremony in their home country to avoid going thru all the paperwork they may need to marry in a foreign country.
A civil ceremony contains no religious elements (except for what the couple may add) and can be performed in a judge's chambers, registrar's/lawyer's office or a venue of their choice. Different laws apply to different states and countries and you can usually find out most of the information from the local court house or City Hall in the city where you wish to be married. (Please see these requirements for the Dominican Republic above).
A Catholic wedding is a sacred union between two people. It is a sacrament celebrated by a Catholic Priest who is authorized to bless the union of this couple in Gods name. In order to perform this type of ceremony, the couple needs to fulfill all the Catholic Church requirements. Please ask the Romance Specialist for further information. In most countries the catholic ceremony can only be performed in a Catholic Church, in Punta Cana the priest makes an exception & can marry the couple in the Wedding Gazebo. The catholic ceremony cannot be performed at the beach.
Basically Symbolic has no legal or religious validity. It has a spiritual and sentimental value. A Civil ceremony does have legal validity and is recognized internationally. Catholic ceremonies have a religious meaning and are recognized by the Catholic Church all over the world.

This will depend on the type of ceremony: Civil and symbolic will take about 15-20 minutes, Catholic will take 45 min to 1 hour.
Maximum time, including ceremony will be one hour. If you choose a civil ceremony you will have 30 minutes to use location for other purposes ( pictures, toast, etc) If you , on the other hand decide to have a Catholic service you may have only 15 minutes , therefore other activities should be planned outside this location. We of course, will provide an alternate location.
